People have been using herbal stress relief products for thousands of years. Our lives these days are going on at such a fast and hectic pace that we need all the help we can get. Modern medicine is beginning to acknowledge a lot of these herbal remedies.

I much prefer herbs over chemicals because herbs do not have the negative side effects that chemicals have. I want to concentrate on the existing products of which there are some really great ones!

My biggest problem in my search for the best herbal products was trying to find the best ones available. I started by researching all I could on the actual herbs that help with stress relief. These are a few of the most well known stress relief herbs:

Catnip

Catnip helps both the nervous system and the digestive system. It relieves many stress related symptoms such as irritable bowel syndrome and peptic ulcers.

Chamomile

Chamomile helps to boost the immune system and has a calming effect.

Passion Flower

Passion flower is an anti oxidant. It also reduces anxiety and helps induce sleep.

Valerian

Valerian is one of the oldest herbs used for stress relief. It has a calming effect and relaxes the nervous system. It is also used to help with muscle cramps and pre menstrual tension.

Scull Cap

Scull cap helps to reduce mood swings.

Hops

Hops is used to help induce sleep and acts as a tranquilizer.

Rhodiola

Rhodiola works on your heart to establish a good heartbeat rhythm.

St Johns Wart

It is used as an anti depressant.
