Self Awareness
What is self awareness? Being aware of your true self. What is your true self? Are you confused yet?
Becoming self aware is when you get to know who you truly are. I am not talking about your name or the job that you hold or the car that you drive. I am talking about something much deeper than all of that.
I know that you have had the feeling of something that is deep inside of you that feels very much alive but you are not sure how to describe it. This is not your mind or any thinking and is more of a feeling and knowing.
You can observe your thoughts. You can watch them come and go without reacting to them. Who is it that does the watching? When you feel yourself getting angry or upset try and detach yourself from the feeling. You are not that feeling. You are the one who can observe your feelings without letting them run your life. You have a choice to become aware of your self or not.
Your mind likes to make you think that you are it. When you believe that you are your mind then every thought and feeling has a direct influence on your life. You are at the whim of the mind which is unable to stop thinking and therefore creates great stress and confusion in your life. Most of the human population suffers from this situation.
You need to realize that you are not your mind and that your mind is just a tool for you to use in your everyday life. You should learn to observe your mind from a third party perspective. When you become the observer then you are your true self and have become self aware.
Your true self cannot be affected by anything on the outside. It is a place of peace and security. The more aware you become of your true self the more peace and calm you will begin to experience in your life. You will start to interact with the world from that calm and peaceful place no matter what is going on around you. The people you come into contact with will feel this peace and it will put them at ease.
It does not matter where you are or what you are doing – that feeling of peace will always be with you.
