Stress relief games and activities

Stress relief games take on many forms. Stress can be relieved by many different means. Each individual will find they prefer some activities over others.

I include forms of exercise in this page as it definitely reduces stress in a big way. Here is a list of my favorites:

• Paintball

For those of you who don't know, paintball is a team sport where each team shoots little paint balls at each other - very satisfying!

• Tennis

Great game as it gives great exercise with the added bonus of smashing a ball!

• Golf

Golf requires great concentration which also helps relieve other stressors by taking your mind off them. Also the bonus of smashing a ball. There might be something to this ball smashing! Talking about balls, check out these stress relief balls

• Jogging

Not really a game but still very effective. It gets the endorphins pumping and improves fitness. The fitter you are the better you cope with stress. Why not take your dog for a run and enjoy pets and stress relief

• Walking

Walking is great to clear your mind. Especially if you can do it in nature. Nature always has a soothing affect on me. Walking anywhere is good for stress. Don't use the lifts next time!

• Yoga

Yoga is my all time favorite to reduce stress. You will feel rejuvenated, relaxed and stress free after a yoga session.

• Video games

Yes, believe it or not video games are good for stress. The concentration required for most video games takes your mind off other stressors. Video games should however be played in moderation!

• Chess

Chess is a fantastic game. The concentration has the same affect as with video games. I would recommend chess over video games as chess has also been proven to enhance the capabilities of your brain!

• Visualization

How do you feel when you visualize yourself in the most peaceful and relaxing environment you can possibly imagine? This is the power of visualization. A powerful stress relief game.

• Gardening

There is something very soothing and satisfying about planting and looking after plants. I think it has something to do with the power of nature!

• Watch a comedy

A good laugh does you the world of good. This is one of my favorite stress relief games.

• Aromatherapy

Special aroma therapy oils have an amazing affect in reducing stress. You can go to an aroma therapist or just use the oils by yourself at home or work. Aromatherapy stress relief

• Massage

Massage relaxes all your tired and stressed muscles. You know the ones I mean - tight shoulders and neck etc. It is even better when you get an aromatherapy massage!
