Music has a very powerful effect on our emotions and can be a fantastic method of stress relief. Music will calm you down and put you into a state of total relaxation.

Both hemispheres of the brain are involved in processing music. The music in these studies is not the "lyrics", but the music itself, the melody, the tones, the tunes, the rhythm, the chords.

A number of studies have also shown that music can have a hugely beneficial effect to a student’s ability to retain learned material.

Expectant mothers who play soothing music to their unborn babies have reported that the calming affect lasts until long after the baby has been born.

There are many studies that have shown us the emotional and mental benefits of listening to music. Everybody has different tastes in music so it is important to choose the music that you like.
